For the gourmands: rolled tart with apples
If you prefer a richer and fruitier filling, you can opt for a delicious version with fresh apples.
In order to prepare it, peel and cut 3-4 apples into thin slices, season them in a bowl with a spoonful of sugar, a pinch of cinnamon and the juice of half a lemon to make them softer and more aromatic. Then distribute them evenly over the rolled out dough, leaving a free edge of about 2 cm to easily roll and seal the pastry.
The result will be a tart roll with a soft and fragrant centre, where the sweetness of the apples perfectly blends with the fragrance of the shortcrust pastry.
Choosing the jam
The versatility of the rolled tart is fully expressed by its filling. While the apple version offers a full–bodied autumnal flavour, jams allow you to explore a wide range of flavours.
For a classic flavor, apricot jam is always a winning choice. If you love berries you can opt for a blueberry or mixed fruit jam, to add a touch of freshness and colour. If you want to experiment with more intense flavours, the cherry and ginger sauce is the perfect choice to create an interesting contrast with the sweetness of the shortcrust pastry.
Let your creativity run wild: you can mix different jams or add dried fruit to create unique and personalized combinations. The important thing is to find the flavor that captures you and remember not to be afraid to experiment with new flavors and tastes!
Preservation
The rolled tart will remain fragrant for 3-4 days if properly stored. To preserve its crunchy texture on the outside and soft on the inside, we recommend wrapping it in a sheet of cling film or placing it under a glass bell jar.
This way, you can enjoy your delicious cake for several days, each time savoring the perfect combination of flavors that only a homemade dessert can offer!
